Cockatoo cried as he sat on a tree branch just above Roo’s head.
“What news?”
inquired Roo.
“Croc’s looking for you and
because he couldn’t find you,
he got mad and hired Dingo to kidnap Koala,”
replied Cockatoo.
“Quick,”
ordered Roo,
“we must rescue him.
Go and get Emu, Wombat, Possum, Echidna, Numbat and Kookaburra.
Then meet me up by the old Ghost–gum at dusk.”
“I’m on my way,”
called Cockatoo as he flew off.
Up at the old Ghost-gum, Roo waited impatiently.
At last a cloud of dust appeared in the distance.
“Here they come,”
remarked Roo, “and about time too!”
